Falling for the moon by Eddy-ewww91 Falling for the moon by Eddy-ewww91
My Fall memory is of the amazing hues of colour that made the trees light up as they were caught in the cascading beams of the majestic moon.

The Autumnal moon, like the season...for me, carries a certain, unique, aspect that sets it apart...

I can't quite put my finger on what it is that makes it so much more amazing than other times of the year, I mean that's the same tree and same moon we experience all-year-round, however Fall is the season of enhanced beauty. I find wildlife tend to agree as represented by my entranced cat, she too watches the moon with eyes that threaten to swallow it whole.

There's nothing like watching the natural world change whilst in the comfort of a nice comfortable chair all the while sipping away and enjoying a nice hot beverage...don't you agree?

P.S. Whilst this was a labor of love (love is pain right?? ;-P) I don't feel that it turned out as well as I'd liked especially by photographic standards, you really have to witness it in person to appreciate the true effect of the lights :-D. Thanks for taking the time to check it out and read this novel of a description. Feel free to leave a comment I love hearing feedback. Good luck to all!
Cheers and warm regards Eddy :-D

Hey there Rob, let me first say wow your gallery is amazing! Love it all especially the matte and fantasy paintings :-D! In answer to your question I'll try to keep it brief, it was basically a shoebox painted black, with black card paper cutouts layered on balsa wood/light density modelling wood to give the perception of depth. Translucent areas such as the leaves, the moon, the window and the lamp shade were made using cellophane and tissue paper. To get the stars and the moon, it's simply a pane of black card with tissue paper and holes cut out of it with battery operated sticky-backed lights that shine through and illuminate everything ;-). Hope that helps if you have nay further questions I'd be happy to answer them please feel free to drop us a comment sometime again soon. Please also keep up the beautiful artwork! Much appreciation Eddy :-D

Why thanks again Inara! It doesn't matter it wasn't in the finalists; there were so many more deserving entries who got through, and the winners of the competition are all pieces I could see winning and were favorites of mine. Needless to say if I were judging I could have picked around 100 or so entries I would have loved to have seen win, there was so much talent in this competition!

I'm very surprised this didn't make it into the finalists! It's still one of my favorites. Too bad I'm not the judges, huh?

I'm not that surprised there were like a million other entries all of which I deem more deserving of being a winner than my diorama! I'm glad I'm not one of the judges, sheesh doing that job must have been tough but the made the right choices, vis-a-vis (I hope I'm using that phrase correctly :-S!?!) sooo happy to see that you made it into the semi finals congratulations!!!! I loved your entry, it was amazing how you captured the real FWOOSH essence ;-P, p.s. I'm officially one of those people who'll go out their way to step on a very crunchy looking leaf ;-).
