Falling for the moon by Eddy-ewww91 Falling for the moon by Eddy-ewww91
My Fall memory is of the amazing hues of colour that made the trees light up as they were caught in the cascading beams of the majestic moon.

The Autumnal moon, like the season...for me, carries a certain, unique, aspect that sets it apart...

I can't quite put my finger on what it is that makes it so much more amazing than other times of the year, I mean that's the same tree and same moon we experience all-year-round, however Fall is the season of enhanced beauty. I find wildlife tend to agree as represented by my entranced cat, she too watches the moon with eyes that threaten to swallow it whole.

There's nothing like watching the natural world change whilst in the comfort of a nice comfortable chair all the while sipping away and enjoying a nice hot beverage...don't you agree?

P.S. Whilst this was a labor of love (love is pain right?? ;-P) I don't feel that it turned out as well as I'd liked especially by photographic standards, you really have to witness it in person to appreciate the true effect of the lights :-D. Thanks for taking the time to check it out and read this novel of a description. Feel free to leave a comment I love hearing feedback. Good luck to all!
Cheers and warm regards Eddy :-D

Hey there Rob, let me first say wow your gallery is amazing! Love it all especially the matte and fantasy paintings :-D! In answer to your question I'll try to keep it brief, it was basically a shoebox painted black, with black card paper cutouts layered on balsa wood/light density modelling wood to give the perception of depth. Translucent areas such as the leaves, the moon, the window and the lamp shade were made using cellophane and tissue paper. To get the stars and the moon, it's simply a pane of black card with tissue paper and holes cut out of it with battery operated sticky-backed lights that shine through and illuminate everything ;-). Hope that helps if you have nay further questions I'd be happy to answer them please feel free to drop us a comment sometime again soon. Please also keep up the beautiful artwork! Much appreciation Eddy :-D

Why thanks again Inara! It doesn't matter it wasn't in the finalists; there were so many more deserving entries who got through, and the winners of the competition are all pieces I could see winning and were favorites of mine. Needless to say if I were judging I could have picked around 100 or so entries I would have loved to have seen win, there was so much talent in this competition!

I'm not that surprised there were like a million other entries all of which I deem more deserving of being a winner than my diorama! I'm glad I'm not one of the judges, sheesh doing that job must have been tough but the made the right choices, vis-a-vis (I hope I'm using that phrase correctly :-S!?!) sooo happy to see that you made it into the semi finals congratulations!!!! I loved your entry, it was amazing how you captured the real FWOOSH essence ;-P, p.s. I'm officially one of those people who'll go out their way to step on a very crunchy looking leaf ;-).

Manish whenever I read your username, I always for a split second read it as Mark my Day, instead of MyDarkDay ;-P LOL. Wow love the diversity in your gallery, awesome work! Loved the designs for the bags and the shirt!! Not a toy totally creeped me out, I'm not a lover of dolls, especially porcelain faced dolls, way too creepy! Too many nightmares and late night scary movies as a child ;-) I think! :-P. Anyway thank you for such kind and supportive words, keep up the amazing deviations! Warm regards Eddy :-P. P.S. Happy Halloween!

Looks like a lot of people liked to use your idea with the whole "backdrop lighting" and all. Maybe you should've submitted your design last lol. I'm just teasing. This is a very wonderful design though. Looks like the details and everything else took you forever to do. And the whole thing about the lighting - I would've never came up with that idea honestly. Very ingenius brain you have there.

Why thank you SinaWho, for some reason I wanna start singing that song "who do voodoo, you do"...O_O...ok put that little bit of weirdness back in the box and lock it up tight. Thanks for the supportive words and sharing some love. Hahaha yeah damn everyone stealing my good ideas :-P naaahhh it's interesting to see others interpretation and I'm pretty sure its all independent thoughts...at least I hope...it better be! *Shakes fist like Nelson* :-P and who cares if I was the proverbial "lightbulb" in others' thought process ;-P HAHAHA. It honestly didn't take me too long I started and finished in about a week, but had many redesigns along the way :-D! I wanted to get my entry in early so as to not have to rush to meet a deadline (early bird gets the worm and all) ;-P.
Your gallery is equally...no scratch that times a million: WAY more impressive! Loved the deadly sin series, really beautiful and evoking (the level of emotion conveyed across each piece...astounding truly!!!!). Thanks for the support and the encouraging comments! Keep up the amazing deviations. Warm regards Eddy :-)

Excuse me a second...*Boshjdfnaskdfs*...that was the sound of my mind blowing by the way. Thanks for such kind words and support Justin :-D! You're amazing at sketches and I could totally tell that your interests would lie in things like Diablo and Oblivion (two great game series IMO), I wish I could draw like you do as I don't think I have an ounce of scary (not bad scary but fricken awesome kick-ass scary!) in my work and whenever I try it always ends up looking childish and like a sad attempt at cartoon violence...-_-...joy. Anyway love your work, thanks again for the kind and supportive words and please keep up the awesome deviations! Warm regards Eddy :-)

You're soooo deserving (I wanted to use deservant damn it, but it's not a word and my auto correct wants to write manservant?! :-P LOL)...bugger it I'm using deservant! You're deservant of a massive hug ! It's an interpreted memory I'm afraid... as the window's not quite so big nor was the moon, but still a beautiful sight to behold, and in real life it just felt magical. I hope I captured that in the piece!? :-S. Thank you! Your gallery is sooo full of all things awesome, it's hard to even fathom how much I love everything that's in there! Your prints are astounding among all the other beautiful deviations! I wish you the best of luck too! I loved your piece, the colours are astounding! Here's hoping we're both in the finals! Warm regards Eddy. P.S. I've got an Uncle and hs family who live in Holland and they too cycled every day to school, that's awesome I wish it was like that here in Australia ;-)

I swear we are one and the same my good man! I read your profile and low and behold we have the exact same interests, how awesome is that!?! I was sooo excited when I read your journal entry about real-life applications of deviantArt, I would've loved to write a poem in my English exams too but I was always worried it wouldn't come across the way I envisioned and I'd fail miserably. Loved your gallery as well, it's got everything I myself would need, a good eye for photography, some design flair and a dash of literary works, definitely my kind of scene! Thanks for your support, Arjun! Warm regards Eddy, fellow lover of music, art, photography, literature and movie buff ;-P

Thanks coming from someone as skilled as you that means a lot!! But awww I wouldn't say the rest are crap by any means, each one has a unique touch and brings forth a new perception, they say "a picture is worth a thousand words but never the same thousand words to two people" (don't know where that's from, some old dude I presume... or perhaps I pulled it out of thin air? Or I thought of it...but considering my head is a hollow with a note inside saying "I owe you one brain love God" it might as well have been thin air ;-P). Anyway thanks for the complement! I loved your outstanding photography and paintings truly, there are no words that live up to the phenomenal awe-inspiring feats of photography and painting you've got in your gallery!!!
